It isn’t massively stunning, however it looks like E3 is cancelled this 12 months for good. Not simply cancelled as in “we’ll do it digital as a substitute”, however cancelled cancelled, as in, “no E3 this 12 months in any respect”.

E3 has by no means particularly introduced a digital convention these 12 months, but it has been in limbo since January. ESA initially announced that it would no longer be holding it in person in January, and weeks later, business insider and video game journalist Jeff Grubb said that it would definitely not return in digital form, both. Now we now have the affirmation.

This does not imply that this summer time will be devoid of long streams of leisure announcements filled with advertisements, although, in the wake of Geoff Keighley’s summer leisure festival, this continues to happen — and it seems that Keighley is aware that the E3 crown is up for grabs, since he tweeted this just a few seconds ago:

Look, we’re not saying that E3 may have been stabbed in the shadows, but when it was, we might have known who to suspect. Especially as a result of Geoff apparently had this follow up able to go:

Could this be the advice for E3 as we all know it? Is this even amazing information, after so many companies have given up lately? Will the Keighley Leisure Festival be about to change it… or has he done it these years in the past? Tell us your ideas in the comments.
